About me!

Hello all! My name is Sarah and I am a freshman Biology major at Millikin University. This blog is focused on the differences between private and public schools, as well as what I believe to be the better school as I do research on both this semester. The reason I chose this topic is from going to private schools all of my life, and I want to discover which is the better choice. As I am writing this blog, I hope to learn a lot about both types of schools, as well as inviting readers to add their comments on their personal experiences so I can get a better understanding of my topic. By reading my blog, I hope readers learn more about the different schools out there and know a little bit more about me!

I grew up attending a small private school in my area, and until I was about ten years old, I thought all schools were like mine: small class sizes, dress codes, and constantly hearing both students and teachers discuss tuition. I never realized there were schools out there with hundreds of students per class, and being able to participate in so many different activities, something I never got the chance to do. After getting involved in sports and meeting people from other schools, I was interested in all of the differences we had between our school experiences. I was fascinated to hear of schools that didn’t tell you what you could and couldn’t wear, among many other things.

So here I am a freshman in college and still going to a small private school. I’ve realized that there’s nothing I like more than being in a small school setting. Over the next semester, I hope to grow my view on schools and see all of the options out there, while giving my readers something informative and entertaining.  Please feel free to leave your own comments and thoughts, and I will keep you up to date on my latest findings and assignments! :)
